the
Story of Forever Always
Back in 1990 I made a decision to be a mum foremost and always - which meant
not going to a place of employment. This decision thus sent me on a
journey which saw me dabble in many home adventures, such as having my own
children's wear clothing range, teaching sewing, patchwork and quilting classes,
and then even scrapbooking all from the comfort of my own home, in my own time
and at my leisure. In 2003 I came to a crossroad in my life that found me feeling boxed in
creatively speaking, and seeing the change in scrapbooking venturing down a
different road to where I was headed, but wanting to go! Realising that I was
getting in deeper to this style of creativity and that perhaps this was going to
be the one creative avenue I may never divert from, after all the way I see it,
scrapbooking is a way of life, not just a hobby! When fate stepped in and all of a sudden a vacant lonely little shop in Dee
Why seemed to be calling out to me - I mentioned jokingly to Brian -"
that would be a perfect craft shop and that I would love to have one of my
own - do you think that you could make my dreams come true!" I would never have guessed then that he could - But I should have known never
to underestimate the man of my dreams. Before the day was out my path on this amazing journey made that curve in the
road - Brian had investigated all our avenues and I was booked on a train
to Melbourne for a the Stamping Down Under trade event that very weekend. We have always said that fate was a big factor in our journey and that if for
some reason a door should shut - it wasn't meant to be. Lucky for you no door has ever shut too hard that it couldn't be re - opened. Before I new it we were renovating the building in Dee Why into an amazing
little craft world - but a place that felt like a home away from home - a place
where dreams came true. Opening the doors in June of 2003 was a very amazing time - I suddenly went
into a whirlwind lifestyle which saw my hours of dabbling in an industry to
living and breathing it. I had suddenly found my creative place in this
world. I helped people to open their own creative doors, whilst working on
projects of my own. I was finally settled in the Art world - loving and
living a dream. During this time I was recognised for my talents - something I think we all
need at times - we often doubt our own skills, for this I am thankful to every
customer who walked thru my doors, because when you walked out your were
satisfied and inspired - but so was I. You make me feel good! Although I believe that if I didn't love what I was doing then I wouldn't do
it anymore - I suddenly found that I was working too hard and the dream was
slowly slipping from my fingers, it's not that I didn't love it - it wasn't
loving me. So with doctors orders taken into account it was decided that
it was time to take another life change - and go back home - keep living this
dream but following it around the corner in to the next suburb. Although we have closed the doors on the building in Dee Why - we see our
move to the online Store only as a positive step in a new Direction. This brings us to 2006 - a new look, a new style, more creativity, more
inspiration, healthier happier families. A new adventure in our journey
with the online store joining the dream, with the doors to our very own Studio
opening soon - we still strive on our family, relaxed atmosphere - After all
scrapbooking is about families - where better to be inspired, but at your
online family store. People often ask why "Forever Always”? The answer to that is romantic
but true - I grew up in a family that is very dedicated, and always saw those
words on cards from my dad to my mum or vice versa - it is even inscribed
on my mums wedding ring, so needless to say with it being in my childhood,
its something that I always sign letters, cards and notes to loved ones with.
Its even engraved on the back of the watch - the first gift of love from myself
to Brian back in 1986 - I don't think I consciously decided on this name - it
just was, and is Forever Always. We have opened the doors to our NEW Studio. I hope that you
found this story inspiring.
